Hey there folks!
You'll be glad to know that i am feeling much better this week, i seem to have got rid of my mystery virus, and i now feel human again! Unfortunately though, my sister(-in-law) Claire and my two nieces, Alix & Tiphi, have come down with flu or something! I sincerely hope they get better very soon, and i will be praying for them all.... including James, who seems to have avoided it all so far, and here's hoping he doesn't get anything!
Any hoo... I need to sit in the front of the telly for a bit, and fry my brain! In other words... relax!
Scrubs is on at the moment... I must buy it on DVD at some point!
Well, I’m already a slacker as far as blogging is concerned… I blame it on not being used to it!
Anyway, is it just me or is it extremely frustrating to be “ill but not ill”?! I came home early from work yesterday, because I had a bit of a bad stomach, and this morning I still felt rather pants! I got up and got ready for work, I even left the house… but I didn’t even make it halfway to the office, I turned around and came home. It is really annoying though, I haven’t actually been ill (in terms of bodily function… if that’s not too much information!) but I had a stinking headache and felt decidedly crap, so I went back to bed, and I slept until lunchtime. I was hoping to do some of my NVQ today, but I haven’t been up to it, even when I did get up I had no energy, and was in no way compass mentis enough to work, even now I am not feeling great… I just hope I feel better by the morning; I will be having an early night and leaving Nigel to watch the football!
Well, it is the day for love... so happy Valentines day to everyone!
This is the 3rd anniversary of the day Nigel asked me out, so I remember valentines with a certain fondness! We haven't done much this year, and we are not out for our dinner or anything (Liverpool are on the telly!!), but it doesn't mean that the day is any less special. We got each other a small gift, and Nigel treated me to breakfast in bed, and ran me a bubble bath this morning... that's all I need, just the small things. Big gestures are nice sometimes, but I would rather know more often, and in small ways that my husband loves me!
So, in closing... Nigel, I Love You! xx
You know, I really didn't want to get up this morning... I was nice and cosy and warm in my bed, and I didn't feel like going to Church. Trouble is I had people to talk to, and things to do, so I made myself get up... and in pootled on down to Church. And do you know what, I really enjoyed it! The time of worship when we sing and praise God was lovely, and I felt blessed, and Steve, our Pastor, gave a very good sermon on Marriage, he spoke from several verses in the bible, and he centred on the following:
Marriage is…
Set out by God – Genesis 2:22
A life long relationship – Matthew 19:5-6
A place of security and equality – Ephesians 5:21
Worth investing in – 1 Corinthians 13:4
We also had a band practice after the service, I play the flute (although with my wrist I have had to stop for a while, but I’m picking it up again now, I have missed playing!) and we had lunch together, and a practice together, it was lovely, and I am extremely glad that I went to church today!
So the moral is… when you don’t feel like it, go anyway. Being amongst God’s people is great therapy, and will bless you just as much as you need!
Right, now i know i signed up for this NVQ, but my workshop today was just mind numbing! i'm already behind, because i have a bad wrist (possibly Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), i've just handed one unit in, am partway through another, and been given a massive unit today to start on... but i just have to grit my teeth and bear it at the moment, and try to get up to date with it all so that i can finish the whole thing before we go visit my cousin Rachel in California in July! i can't wait! hot sun, good company... and lots of shopping!!
Well, now that my very cheeky brother James has alerted you to my existence blog wise... i thought i would post a hello! i don't yet know what i will talk about, it will entirely depend on what inspires me on any given day i guess! well... keep your eye on this space!
Rising to the challenge set down by my big brother James, I give you the Four Things Meme. And just like James, I do have a list of other things I should be doing and this does looks like more fun...
Four jobs I've had in my life:
Care Assistant – washing old bottoms for a living (very hard work for a pittance!)
Shop Assistant – I worked in the delightful Matalan for a year and a half…
Receptionist – my first job out university, as a temp
Admin Officer – my current job, for Kent Social Services.
Four movies I can watch over and over:
The Crow – my first favourite film… there have others since!
Beaches – it always, and I mean always, make me cry!!
Chicken Run – it’s just funny!
Friends – I know, not a movie, but Nigel and I are working our way through all 10 series again at the moment, and it is just great, even though we have both seen them so many times already!
Four places I have lived:
Larkfield – The first place a I remember living anyway! Moved there when I was 6 months old!
Burham – moved here when I was six (years this time!)
London – Lived here while I was at University, opposite Waterloo for the first year, and Findsbury Park for the second year…
Maidstone – Moved back to the town I was born in to live with my lovely hubby!
Four things I'm on the verge of learning:
That being a student again is hard work (signed up for an NVQ course at work!)
That having a tidy room is nice! – I’ve always been really, really messy… I’m slowly changing!
That it’s better to get on with one job at a time – I keep jumping between this and my study, I keep loosing my train of thought!!
How to annoy a lorry driver – well I did already know this, but as we were driving though road works on Thursday, with a 30 limit and the knowledge that they do have speed cameras along that stretch I found it fun to annoy the lorry driver who was riding my bumper!
Four things I've done to try to impress a member of the opposite sex:
Got drunk – not a clever thing to do, and it doesn’t work!
Worn tiny clothes – I once wore a tiny little dress (as in extremely short) out clubbing, and was very uncomfortable, kept pulling it down so I didn’t flash my knickers… better just to wear something you are comfortable in!
Snogged him – bad idea when you meet a bloke in a club… he just thought he was onto a promise! And I am proud to say he was disappointed!
Got my hair cut especially for the first date – and it worked, I’m still with him!
Four nationalities I've been mistaken for:
American – I went to the Philippines a few years ago, and for some reason they think every white person is American!
Apart from that I haven’t… I must just be unmistakably English!
Four places I would rather be right now:
Bed – it’s cosy and warm!
Cuba – Best holiday I ever had… it was my honeymoon!
Anywhere but here – I’m studying on a Saturday, why did I sign up for this course!?!
In the arms of the one I love! ;-)
Four bloggers whom I shall try and pass this memetic-infection to:
Don’t know many bloggers… but I’ll send it round a few friends by email!
I need to come up with a colour scheme for this blog... James seems to think i will choose something purple... i just wonder what gave him that idea!
I'm gonna give it some thought, and maybe design something original... you'll have to drop me a comment to tell me what you think, one the background is uploaded!
DON'T POST SPAM ON THIS ENTRY, IT WILL BE DELETED.
I'm set up with Blog!! This is all very new and different for me... so expet lots of waffle!
